Author Biography
Karl Helmer has dedicated a significant portion of his professional life, as well as his retirement, to aid work in East Africa, including roles at Norad in Oslo and as a diplomat at the embassies in Tanzania and Uganda. Anna, a vocational teacher specializing in textile subjects, worked with women in Africa, focusing particularly on education. In her retirement, she has been involved in the international aid program of the Women and Family Association and has engaged with women at the local asylum center, where she met Pauline.
